Documentation
The paperwork, up front.
Certificate numbers, issuing bodies and dates for the cells inside our packs — plus an honest list of what is still missing. If a document does not exist yet, this page says so.
Four documents, three layers — and they are not interchangeable.
Most suppliers send you a certificate and let you assume it covers the battery. It usually covers the cell. Here is the difference, and where we stand on each layer.
IEC 62619:2017 (CB Scheme)
Safety of secondary lithium cells for industrial use. Issued by a CB National Certification Body and traceable in the IECEE database — the number on our table can be checked independently.
UN 38.3 transport testing
Altitude, thermal, vibration, shock, short circuit, impact and overcharge — what a freight forwarder needs before the battery can fly or sail.
UL 2580 (pack level)
The one North American buyers and insurers actually ask for, and the one a cell certificate cannot replace. It tests the assembled pack with its BMS, contactors and enclosure.
UL 1564 / CSA C22.2 No. 107.2
Applies to the charger, not the battery. The 36–96 V cabinet chargers and the 3 kW on-board family we quote are certified by TÜV Rheinland of North America for the US and Canadian markets — a listing your inspector can act on, not a self-declaration.
Cell documents on file
Five CATL cell types cover nine of the sixteen pack models; the remaining seven are being confirmed against the pack bills of materials. Cell build per pack is shown on each product page.

Cell build per pack is derived from nameplate capacity and series string count, and is being confirmed line by line against the pack BOM. Where it matters to your approval, ask us and we confirm the exact cell model in writing.
What a cell certificate does not mean
Four things worth knowing before this ends up in someone's EHS file.
- A CB certificate covers a cell, not a battery. Your pack adds a BMS, contactors, fusing, a steel enclosure and a charging interface. None of that is in the CB report. Ask for the pack-level document for the exact MGT model.
- IEC 62619 is not UL 2580. A CB report does not satisfy an NRTL requirement and carries no UL mark. If your site, insurer or authority having jurisdiction asks for UL 2580, an IEC 62619 certificate will not be accepted in its place.
- UN 38.3 is a transport test, not an operating approval. It proves the cell survived shipping conditions. It says nothing about cycle life, BMS behaviour or how the pack performs in a freezer at −25 °C.
- A safety data sheet is not a certificate. It is a hazard-communication document for your safety team. It approves nothing and certifies nothing.
What we are still chasing
Updated as documents land. Nothing here is hidden behind a sales call.
Send us the requirement, not a compliment
Tell us the model and what your site needs — a UL 2580 listing, a CB report for a European parent company, UN 38.3 for a forwarder, or an insurer's checklist. You get the documents that actually apply, within 24 hours, and a straight answer where they don't exist.
